A qualified licensed electrician can complete testing in order to provide a certificate of electrical safety for you. Different States and Territories have different names for the certificate:
NSW: Certificate of Compliance Electrical Work
VIC: Certificate of Electrical Safety
QLD: Testing and Compliance Certificate or Electrical Work Request
SA: Electrical Certificate of Compliance
ACT: Certificate of Electrical Safety.
A certificate of electrical safety must be completed by a licensed electrician and the electrician is responsible for compliance with regulations.
It’s a good idea to check your electrician signs, dates and completes all fields on the form. The name on the certificate should be the same as the person who is requesting the electricity to be connected.
